Earth Enlightened.--I saw jets of light shining from cities and villages, and from the high
places and the low places of the earth. God's Word was obeyed, and as a result there
were memorials for Him in every city and village. His truth was proclaimed throughout

Hundreds and thousands were seen visiting families, and opening before them the
Word of God. Hearts were convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit, and a spirit of
genuine conversion was manifest. On every side doors were thrown open to the
proclamation of the truth. The world seemed to be lightened with the heavenly

The great outpouring of the Spirit of God, which lightens the whole earth with His
glory, will not come until we have an enlightened people, that know by experience what
it means to be laborers together with God. When we have entire, wholehearted
consecration to the service of Christ, God will recognize the fact by an outpouring of His
Spirit without measure; but this will not be while the largest portion of the church are not
laborers together with God. God cannot pour out His Spirit when selfishness and selfindulgence
are so manifest; when a spirit prevails that, if put into words, would express
that answer of Cain,-- "Am I my brother's keeper?"--R. & H., July 21, 1896. {CS 52.1}
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
